THE RENAISSANCE PERIOD LITERATURE

The Renaissance is the most significant movement in the history of Europe. it refers to the new changes and developments that occurred in the 15th and 16th centuries Europe in the fields of society, politics, economy, art, culture, literature, religion, science, and technology, etc. the word "Renaissance" means 'rebirth' it refers to the re-reading and re-interpretation of the classical Greek and Latin works. it caused to the establishment of a "newness" in almost every walk of human life. it led the humans from the ignorance of the "dark age" to the knowledge of the "modern period" from blind beliefs to the scientific reasoning.

causes of Renaissance:-

in the middle ages, people were under the control of the church. there was no freedom to oppose the policies and notions of the church. everyone had to accept and follow them. only spiritual studies got prominence and art, literature, history, and other such disciplines were neglected.

At that time the fall of Constantinople (1453) became the immediate cause for Renaissance. scholars of Constantinople came to Italy and other places from there and spread their scholarly wealth to people. 

There are some other causes for Renaissance They are

1. the emergence of the concept of national states
2. geographical inventions and encounter with new cultures
3. the emergence of new thinking
4. religious reforms ......etc
