THE WAY OF THE WORLD

The way of the world by English play writer William Congreve in 1700. it is the best restoration comedy. it is still performed today, but it was controversial in its time for its themes and sexuality. the play focused on the pair of lovers, Mirabell and Millament. the story follows their plan to marry. but Millament,s aunt Lady Wishfort does not accept the love of young lovers. at the same time remaining characters like friends, servants or engaging in their own affair. this play consists of five acts.

 The play begins as Mirabell and his friend Mr.Fainall have just finished playing cards. a footman comes and tells Mirabell that his servant Waitwell and Lady Wishfort servant Foible got married. than Mirabell wants to express his love with Millamnet in front of Fainall. Fainall said that he encourages Mirabell and Millament to get married. o the other side Mirabell thinks of lady Wishfort marry someone, he will lose all property belonged to Millament. the only way to get the property or money is Mirabell should convince lady Wishfort to accept there Love.

 Act two begins at St. James Park as Mrs.Fainall and her friend Mrs.Marwood are talking about hatred of men. Mr.Fainall arrives and accuses Mrs.marwood of to has an affair secretly with him and he also accused  Mrs.marwood to have love with Mirabell. the fact is Mrs.Fainall is also a secret lover of Mirabell Mrs.Fainall told Mirabell that she hates her husband and plans to get marry Mirabell by taking a blessing of lady Wishfort. Millament comes angrily about lady Wishfort to disapprove of their love. then Waitwell and foible come and Mirabell discusses with them about how to convince Lady Wishfort.

 Act three and act four and act five takes place in lady Wishfort homed. Wishfort is a lonely women. her servant Foible encourages her to marry Mirabell's uncle Sir Rowland so, Mirabell will lose is an inheritance. but sir Rowland thinks to marry lady Wishfort is illegal. she will become a social disgrace for marrying. Mirabel helps her to come out of the marriage conflict by offering Mirabell and Millament marriage Mrs.Fainall and Foible discuss this plan, Mrs.marwoodlistened secretly and decides to tell Mr.Fainall because mr.fainall  plans to steal all his wife's money and run away with Mrs.Marwood.

 Mirabell andMillament discus and determined to show the depth of their love by proposing each other Mrs.Fainall encourages their love. Mirabell left the place and lady Wishfort comes and tells Millament to marry her nephew, sir. Willful Witwood lady Wiswhfort receives a letter telling her of sir.rowland. sir.rowland steals the letter and accused Mirabell to destroy the wedding with lady Wishfort. than lady, Wishfort agrees to marry Sir Rowland.

 Finally, lady Wishfort discovered the plan of Fainall and Waitwell and they arrested lady Wishfort offers Mirabell her consent to his marriage if he saves her fortune and honor. than Mirabell confessed him self and Mirabell receives the blessing of lady Wishfort and marry Millament.
