Stop Hindi Imposition

Language is a very important tool for human beings. In a country like India we can find 22 official languages. A large country like India has a population that speaks about 780 languages. Kannada has its own history. Kannada language is said to have a history of about 2500 years. I will come straight to the point; That is what is being imposed on us unnecessarily in recent years and oppression by neighbour speakers in our own land.

As you know, after the independence of India, states were redistributed on the basis of linguistic regions. However, some border villages did not join their mother tongue states and remained there. The central government uses Hindi and English as official languages. But this is where the problems start, that is, the applications for the schemes given by the central government are printed only in Hindi and English languages. For example post office applications, bank challans, pass books. Many people do not know how to write in any language other than their mother tongue, they struggle to fill the application form. In Tamil Nadu, Central Government applications are being printed in Tamil, but in Karnataka we have reached a point where we are begging Central Government services in our language.

Hindi has been imposed on the people by the central government for a long time. Because the big posts of the central government will be their share. Highest number of Prime Ministers from Uttar Pradesh state. A significant point here is that Hindi is the official language of the state of Uttar Pradesh. Most people of North India know Hindi as their national language and argue with non-speaking people. Ironically, few people in Karnataka have come to know that this is the truth. North Indians choose work and come to South India. They don't like to learn the language of our land. This problem is not seen in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, because the people there are self-respecting and deal with non-native speakers in their own language if they come to work. But even if we do not speak their language in our state, we will try to answer them in their own language.

This imposition has gone to such an extent that they have started teaching small children in schools. In many schools in Bangalore, English, Hindi and then Kannada are taught from the first class. There is a situation where children who have to learn through play have to learn three languages. Children from Hindi speaking states and Tamil Nadu learn only two languages. Children are told that Hindi is our national language, but in reality India has no official national language. North Indian politicians are going to make Hindi the national language. We have seen in banks; How Hindi speaking employers look at us.

My argument is why children of our country should learn three languages. I think it is not enough if the children and people of our country learn two languages? We can see in the world; English language is growing as the business language of most of the countries. We can't help but learn English. So we should not learn Hindi as a third language. Some people say that English is not the language of our country. But their children and they alone learn English and go abroad. Now a person who comes to Kannada should learn English as another language. Similarly, if people who speak Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Marathi and other languages learn English along with their mother tongue, they can deal with non-native speakers in English, right? According to some people if we know Kannada we can travel around our state, if we know Hindi we can travel around our nation and if we know English we can travel around the whole world. According to them, if people who come to our country from other countries go to Hindi states, will they speak in Hindi? No? Only we have to learn three languages hard, but Hindi people  learn only two languages; so where is the justic? So every citizen of our country should learn English along with his mother tongue. If any man wish to learn they can learn as many possible they like.

Central government should stop imposing Hindi and start providing services in local language and English only. Central government should give more importance to local languages and take those languages to world level. If the jobs of the respective state are made available to the people of the respective state, these language conflicts will be completely eliminated.
