A NOTE ON THE POET:-  
Geroge Herbert was born on 3 April 1593 in an artistic and wealthy family. herbert was the fifth son of an eminent Welsh family. then he raised in England. herbert receives a good education from his family later he takes admission in Trinity College, Cambridge in 1609.  herbert went there because of the intention of becoming a priest, but he attracted the attention of kings James 1and he served in the parliament of England in 1624.

george Herbert was an English poet and priest of the church in England and his poetry associated with the writings of the metaphysical poets. and Herbert is recognized as "one of the foremost British devotional lyricist.

herbert receives two-degree B.A in 1613 and M.A in 1616 than he was appointed as a reader in Rhetoric at Cambridge Herbert was elected as a representative to parliament in 1624 and 1625. then he married Jane Danvers in 1629. he spends his life in Bremerton near Salisbury where he wrote poetry and rebuild his church from his own funds.
