In Today’s class, we discussed about Socrates's Intellectualism. Sir told us that Intellectuals must be thoughtfully. Thoughtfully means we have to thought what is good and what is bad for society and also to us. Thought is important because without thought we can’t understand anything. In our society, we can see various thoughtless people who are not caring for others. In Govt offices we can see thoughtless people that whose answers to people are so irritating. We have to be thoughtfully so that we can give our society a good thoughts about bad assumptions.
Why do we need English is another point in our class. This question was asked by sir to students. Sir told us that English need for Marketing English or Scholarly English. Marketing English is also needed but English is not for Marketing but for Scholarly English. Students have to develop their ability to become scholars, not salesmen. We can see the answer to this question in Greek Intellectual Tradition. Nowadays movies which are made play with people's emotions. Some movies do not run in theatres but those movies take national awards. According to this good movies make people uncomfortable.
Socrates inquires people with some questions and ask answer from them. Socrates questions belong to our daily life. We can’t ignore any situation that occurs in our life without being unexamined. An unexamined life is not worth living. Art Faculty also came from Greek Intellectual Tradition.
